Teacher Bios
Shari Rothstein, Principal

Shari is in her third year as the CKS principal. Shari has been a Jewish Educator for over20 years in a variety of positions. During her teaching career she has taught Hebrew,music, holidays, torah, prophets and has led Tefillah services. Shari is the Vice Presidentof the Anshe Emeth Community Development Corporation, where she spends manyvolunteer hours collecting, purchasing and delivering baby equipment and supplies toyoung struggling families of Middlesex County. Originally from Huntington, New York,Shari lives Kendall Park with her husband Marc and 12th grade twins, Adam and Emily.

 
Morah Tracey Weingarten, K-2nd Grade

This is Morah Tracey's 3rd year teaching at CKS and loves every minute! She teaches K-2 and it never fails to impress her with how smart her students are. One of her favoriteactivities in her class is going on spontaneous "field trips" to experience parts of thesanctuary or enhance vocabulary or the Alef Bet. Morah Tracey looks forward to awonderful year filled with learning and fun. On a personal note, Morah Tracey grew upin St.Louis, Missouri, went to Syracuse University and lives in Kendall Park with herhusband Marc and 3ish children (well, one is away at college). She is a substitute teacherin South Brunswick.

 
Morah Karen Fridkis, 3rd Grade

Karen Fridkis is entering her fifth year teaching at CKS. Karen's goals in the classroomare to enhance her students love and understanding of Judaism while strengthening theirgrowing friendships with each other. In her hands-on classroom student explore theirheritage through literature, music, acting, art, and conversation. One of her favoriteclassroom activities is sharing a snack with her students and listening to them describewhat they did during the week to help heal the world through their acts of lovingkindness. She is delighted to be working with the 3rd grade class and looks forward toanother wonderful new year together. Karen lives with her husband, Larry, in Hopewell.Their two sons, Jake and Gabe, are currently in college and their daughter, Kate, who ismarried to Simon Berring, is the lay cantor of CKS.

 
Morah Laura Leibowitz, 4th Grade

Laura Leibowitz, “Morah Laura” has taught religious school for thirteen years. Herreligious school teaching experiences include third grade holiday classes, b’nai mitzvahpreparation, high school torah class and students with special learning needs. Learningabout mitzvot and studying torah are important parts of Judaism for her. Morah Lauralives in Piscataway with her husband and three children, she is a public high schoolteacher there as well. She is truly enjoys working with the children of the Kehilat Shalomcongregation.

 
Morah Sharon Diamonstein, 5th and 6th Grade, Hebrew Studies

Sharon Diamondstein has been involved in Jewish Education for the past 7 years,working with children aged 4 through high school. She previously taught both 5th gradeReligious School and Teen Institute at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield, NJ.Sharon is currently a full time first grade general studies teacher at Yeshiva at the JerseyShore in Deal, NJ, where she helps her students develop a love of learning. Sharoncurrently lives in North Brunswick, and enjoys spending her spare time with her husband,Marc, her son Eric, and her dog Winston.

 
Morah Robynn Mann, 5th and 6th Grade, Jewish Studies

This is Morah Robynn's 7th year teaching at CKS and she loves it! She teaches 5th &6th Grade Jewish Studies. One of her favorite activities is taking her kids on a MockTour of Israel. Morah Robynn looks forward to another great year. On a personal note,Morah Robynn grew up in New Jersey, went to American University where she studiededucation, and lives in Monroe Township with her husband Brad and her 4 amazingchildren.

 
Morah Sherry Barsky, 7th Grade

This is Sherry’s first year teaching 7th grade at CKS, but she is not new to teaching.Sherry taught at The Jewish Center in Princeton for 21 yeas. She has a degreein elementary education from Temple University. Sherry continues her Jewisheducation every week at Torah Study and every summer at NewCAJE (coalition on theAdvancement of Jewish Education). Sherry enriches her lessons using music, art andstories. Sherry has 2 children and 3 granddaughters.
 
Meryl Orlando, Mitzvah Program Teacher

Meryl Orlando is beginning her fourth year as the volunteer B’nei Mitzvah Projectteacher. Meryl has taught Hebrew school in a number of synagogues since 1973 with allage groups. Her current volunteer position arose out of her passion and desire to supportour students in making a difference in the world. In her “day job”, Meryl is a Family andConsumer Sciences teacher at South Brunswick High School where she teaches childdevelopment and foods. Meryl’s hobbies are interior design, cooking, and crafts. Shelives in Monmouth Junction with her husband Lou and sons Andrew and Jeremy.

 
Eric Komar, Music Teacher

This is Eric’s first year as the CKS Music Teacher but he is not at all new to the worldof music. At the age of 17, he won the NFTY Song Competition. More than two decadeslater, Eric performs and teaches Jewish music at various synagogues, Jewish conventions,JCCs, and Hillels nationwide. Eric is veteran singer, songwriter, guitarist and a recordingartist. He has recently released his 3rd album, Ripples. You can listen to selections fromthat album on his website www.komarmusic.com. Eric lives in Hillsborough with hiswife Dalia, his two children, and their three cats.
